The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone is the epitome of green urbanism. It fosters a responsible attitude towards the consumption of natural resources by achieving a distinct aura of modernity without comprising the environment. It is the first in the Philippines to run on renewable energy and energy efficient technology, utilizing solar power as one of its main sources of electricity.
The Aurora Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) is planning a 10-MW Wind Park to be located in the Municipality of Casiguran. Preliminary feasibility studies indicate a Class 3 wind regime with wind speeds in the 6-7 m/s and wind power densities in the 300-350 W/m2 range.
